Soothe
sensitised skin quickly
Does your skin feel hot after cleansing, sting with every product or suddenly flush red? The reflex shouldn't be to add a new “repairing” product — it's to slow down and go back to basics.
SOS
The rescue protocol for 48 to 72 hours
Put your routine on pause, without giving up three essential steps: cleanse gently, hydrate, protect from the sun. Irritated skin absorbs actives less effectively and reacts more — trying to speed up results often prolongs the discomfort.
In the morning, rinse with lukewarm water or use a very gentle, fragrance-free cleanser. In the evening, carefully remove make-up and SPF without rubbing, then apply a hydrating formula followed by a cream rich in lipid-replenishing ingredients.
Formulation
The actives that calm without overloading
Look for products that combine humectants, biomimetic lipids and soothing agents. Niacinamide can support the barrier and an even skin tone — at a moderate strength if your skin reacts easily.

If the redness is diffuse and recurring rather than occasional, an azelaic acid serum can complete the routine once the most acute phase has passed.

Always finish with comfortable sun protection: UV rays keep inflammation going and can turn temporary redness into a lasting mark.

Stop now
The mistakes that keep redness and stinging going
Temporarily stop AHAs, BHAs, PHAs, grainy scrubs and cleansing brushes. Retinol, retinal and acidic vitamin C deserve the same caution during this phase. Be wary of very hot water and heavily fragranced formulas.
“For weakened skin, simplicity often works better than layering on more.”
Gradual return
When should you go back to your targeted actives?
Wait until the warning signs have gone: no burning, no peeling patches, skin that feels comfortable from morning to night. Then reintroduce one product at a time, allowing several days of observation between each addition.
