The best Korean cleanser
for visible pores
Pores don't close — but what's inside them can stay fluid or build up depending on how you cleanse. The right move isn't to strip your skin, but to choose the right texture and the right active.
Diagnosis
Why do pores become more visible?
Pore size depends on genetics, but how visible they are varies with what's inside them: oxidised sebum, dead cells or product residue make them look larger. Combination to oily skin is the most affected, often on the nose, chin and forehead.
Paradoxically, overly aggressive cleansing makes the problem worse: the skin defends itself by producing more sebum. Consistent, gentle yet effective cleansing pays off more than a formula promising "purified" skin in one minute.
Formulation
The actives to look for to unclog pores
BHA (salicylic acid) is oil-soluble: it works in the oily environment of the pore to clear out sebum and dead cells. In a rinse-off cleanser, its action is gentle — an excellent starting point.

Soothing ingredients such as centella, green tea or panthenol don't "cleanse" the pore in the strict sense, but they support calm skin — which is often less shiny and less reactive.
For your skin
Which texture to choose for your skin type
For oily or congested skin, a foam with a physiological pH or a purifying BHA gel makes sense. For dehydrated combination skin, a low-foaming gel avoids drying out the cheeks while still cleansing the T-zone.

“A rich lather guarantees neither better purification nor better tolerance.”
In practice
A realistic routine for clearer pores
In the evening, remove your make-up if needed, then cleanse with your targeted formula. Add a hydrating toner and a niacinamide serum. Two to three evenings a week, a leave-on BHA exfoliant can complete the routine if your skin tolerates it. In the morning, sun protection remains essential.

- Overly stripping cleansing makes pores more visible by stimulating sebum.
- BHA remains the go-to active for congested pores, gently.
- The texture should adapt to your T-zone and your cheeks, not the other way round.
- Consistency always beats cleansing intensity.
